Personal Memoranda – commissioned

WWW is a project about objects and images that have stayed in personal collections because they hold a story, personal or historical that makes them significant. This story is often incomplete, fragmented; it’s a memory of how it was used or whom it belonged to.

Personal Memoranda – WWW took place from March to August 2015. The project focussed on uncovering objects that tell stories relating to women during the period of WW1 1914- 1918. It  investigated object’s that had been carried down through generations and how those stories keep being re told and how this has impacted the role of women today.

Through workshops, group talks and one to one dropin sessions, WWW formed a new archive in both digital and analogue formatts, bringing sotries and objects onto one location in the form of a printed scrapbook and postcard collection.

Publications

The project produced two printed publications and a website to enable the stories and images to have a lasting legacy.
